旧约-撒母耳记上(1 Samuel) 第8章

第1段

中文	撒母耳年纪老迈，就立他儿子作以色列的士师。
英文	And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

第2段

中文	长子名叫约珥，次子名叫亚比亚。他们在别是巴作士师。
英文	Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.

第3段

中文	他儿子不行他的道，贪图财利，收受贿赂，屈枉正直。
英文	And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

第4段

中文	以色列的长老都聚集，来到拉玛见撒母耳，
英文	Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,

第5段

中文	对他说，你年纪老迈了，你儿子不行你的道。现在求你为我们立一个王治理我们，像列国一样。
英文	And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

第6段

中文	撒母耳不喜悦他们说立一个王治理我们，他就祷告耶和华。
英文	But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

第7段

中文	耶和华对撒母耳说，百姓向你说的一切话，你只管依从。因为他们不是厌弃你，乃是厌弃我，不要我作他们的王。
英文	And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

中文	自从我领他们出埃及到如今，他们常常离弃我，事奉别神。现在他们向你所行的，是照他们素来所行的。
英文	According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

第9段

中文	故此你要依从他们的话，只是当警戒他们，告诉他们将来那王怎样管辖他们。
英文	Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

第10段

中文	撒母耳将耶和华的话都传给求他立王的百姓，说，
英文	And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.

第11段

中文	管辖你们的王必这样行，他必派你们的儿子为他赶车，跟马，奔走在车前。
英文	And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

第12段

中文	又派他们作千夫长，五十夫长，为他耕种田地，收割庄稼，打造军器和车上的器械。
英文	And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

第13段

中文	必取你们的女儿为他制造香膏，作饭烤饼。
英文	And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.

第14段

中文	也必取你们最好的田地，葡萄园，橄榄园赐给他的臣仆。
英文	And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

第15段

中文	你们的粮食和葡萄园所出的，他必取十分之一给他的太监和臣仆。
英文	And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

第16段

中文	又必取你们的仆人婢女，健壮的少年人和你们的驴，供他的差役。
英文	And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.

第17段

中文	你们的羊群，他必取十分之一，你们也必作他的仆人。
英文	He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

第18段

中文	那时你们必因所选的王哀求耶和华，耶和华却不应允你们。
英文	And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

第19段

中文	百姓竟不肯听撒母耳的话，说，不然。我们定要一个王治理我们，
英文	Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;

第20段

中文	使我们像列国一样，有王治理我们，统领我们，为我们争战。
英文	That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

第21段

中文	撒母耳听见百姓这一切话，就将这话陈明在耶和华面前。
英文	And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.

第22段

中文	耶和华对撒母耳说，你只管依从他们的话，为他们立王。撒母耳对以色列人说，你们各归各城去吧。
英文	And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.
