第1段

中文 祸哉,这流人血的城,充满谎诈和强暴。抢夺的事,总不止息。
英文 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

第2段

中文 鞭声响亮,车轮轰轰,马匹踢跳,车辆奔腾,
英文 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

第3段

中文 马兵争先,刀剑发光,枪矛闪烁,被杀的甚多,尸首成了大堆,尸骸无数,人碰着而跌倒。
英文 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

中文 都因那美貌的妓女多有淫行,惯行邪术,藉淫行诱惑列国,用邪术诱惑(原文作卖)多族。
英文 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

中文 万军之耶和华说,我与你为敌。我必揭起你的衣襟,蒙在你脸上,使列国看见你的赤体,使列邦观看你的丑陋。
英文 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

第6段

中文 我必将可憎污秽之物抛在你身上,辱没你,为众目所观。
英文 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

第7段

中文 凡看见你的,都必逃跑离开你,说,尼尼微荒凉了。有谁为你悲伤呢。我何处寻得安慰你的人呢。
英文 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

中文 你岂比挪亚们强呢。挪亚们坐落在众河之间,周围有水。海(指尼罗河)作她的濠沟,又作她的城墙。
英文 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

第9段

中文 古实和埃及是她无穷的力量。弗人和路比族是她的帮手。
英文 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.

第10段

中文 但她被迁移,被掳去。她的婴孩在各市口上也被摔死。人为她的尊贵人拈阄,她所有的大人都被链子锁着。
英文 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

第11段

中文 你也必喝醉,必被埋藏。并因仇敌的缘故寻求避难所。
英文 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

第12段

中文 你一切保障,必像无花果树上初熟的无花果。若一摇撼,就落在想吃之人的口中。
英文 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

第13段

中文 你地上的人民,如同妇女。你国中的关口,向仇敌敞开。你的门闩被火焚烧。
英文 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

第14段

中文 你要打水预备受困。要坚固你的保障。踹土和泥,修补砖窑。
英文 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

第15段

中文 在那里,火必烧灭你,刀必杀戮你,吞灭你如同蝻子。任你加增人数多如蝻子,多如蝗虫吧。
英文 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

第16段

中文 你增添商贾,多过天上的星。蝻子吃尽而去。
英文 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.

第17段

中文 你的首领,多如蝗虫,你的军长,彷佛成群的蚂蚱,天凉的时候,齐落在篱笆上,日头一出便都飞去,人不知道落在何处。
英文 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

第18段

中文 亚述王阿,你的牧人睡觉,你的贵胄安歇。你的人民散在山间,无人招聚。
英文 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

第19段

中文 你的损伤无法医治,你的伤痕极其重大。凡听你信息的,必都因此向你拍掌。你所行的恶,谁没有时常遭遇呢。
英文 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
